The CURBS Founder

Kathryn Copsey
Kathryn who founded the CURBS Project over 15 years ago and who was the Project Leader sadly died on 11 November 2011. She is now in the presence of the One whom she had served so faithfully and so enthusiastically for many years. Her love for children, especially in inner city East London led to the founding of CURBS. Her work has left a lasting impact on many churches and has influenced countless children. Her contribution will be greatly missed but her vision endures.
Staff Team
Kate Traynor
Kate starting working with CURBS in October 2009. She has been working in East London at the CURBS office base for over 3 years with children/young people and families. She has worked for a Christian charity as family support worker and has a youth work qualification. Kate also has a range of experience of working in community centres and running church based youth/children’s groups. She is really excited about working for CURBS and spreading the message of God’s love with children. She is currently on maternity leave until Sept 2012.
Jean Elliott
Jean works with CURBS one day a week as East London Development Worker. She lives in Walthamstow and is also Children's Work Development Worker for Waltham Forest Deanery. She's worked with children for many years in lots of different contexts, and hopes she is growing more child-like all the time! One great joy was to be involved in setting up 'The Hothouse', an exciting Christian venue for children and families in Aldridge, West Midlands. She loves story writing and art and has contributed to several CUBBS resource packs.
