KIDS UNITED – working with children
It’s all very well talking about children but in CURBS we feel it’s really important to be working with children on a regular basis as well. Kids United is a holiday activity programme where we have the opportunity to model CURBS approaches, experiment with new ideas, and try out new resources.
Kids United is based in a church hall in Shadwell in East London. It caters for 4 to 7 year olds and runs for a few days during each half term and longer holiday period. The majority of the children come from one local school and we enjoy games, stories, crafts and parachute games together. Parents and carers are welcome to come and stay and make a drink. During the summer holiday we go on family outings together.
We are currently running a series of holiday club sessions based on themes and stories within Christianity and Islam that share a common heritage.
